Things required:

  • Vinyl siding
  • Vinyl accessories (J-Mold, outside corner piece)
  • Measuring tape
  • Hammer
  • Carpenter’s level
  • Siding nails
  • Pencil
  • Tin snips
  • Chop saw (optional)

Instructions:

Set up the trim pieces first.

  • Fasten similar vinyl ‘J-Mold’ to the corner of the dormer with the ceiling line and at the head of the siding spot.  At the frontage wall of the dormer, set up a preformed exterior vinyl corner portion from under the eave to the ceiling line, approaching the cut in the back for a taut fit.

Level the piece of siding.

  • Employ a certified siding trick to decide the angle of cut for the siding portions by putting a siding piece anywhere on the side of the dormer.

  • Attach the base rail to the first post. Tie the ends of the base rail to protect concrete leakage from the gap of the post. Put in security device rings in the end of every rail. Push the security ring tags and put in the rail in the post. Release the tags when the fence and post comes in the same place. Position a support bracer in the center of the base rail.
  • Repeat the above mentioned process again for the second post. If required, add blocks below the base rail to make sure the position is accurate.
  • Put in the center rail in the posts. Confirm that the openings are facing down when you position the center rail.
  • Position the stakes of fence pieces into the grounded holes on the base rail. For the time being, separate the center rail from the posts. Set up the top rail when you position the stakes, then add the center and top rails again to the posts.
  • Save the rails by examining for even stakes placing on the end of every rail, after that use a screw, ‘size depending on the person fence directions’ to attach the fence rails and posts. Smoothen the center rail as well and secure it in the same manner.
  • Put the door according to the directions given by the hardware package. The directions can differ according to the builders. Cook over the medium temperature for a few minutes until it becomes thick; now, put it in a double boiler and cook for around 3 hours. Serve instantly with cream or milk and sugar.

Cream of wheat with dates:

  • 4 c. cream of wheat
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 5 c. boiling water
  • 4 c. dates

Clean the dates in lukewarm water, slice them lengthways using a sharp knife, and take away the seeds. Slice each date into five pieces and mix them into the cream of wheat 15 minutes before serving. Stir them into the breakfast cereal just enough to dispense them uniformly. Serve them hot with sugar and cream or milk.

How to Cook Junket

Ingredient required:

  • 2 junket tablet
  • 2 Tb. cold water
  • 2 qt. milk
  • 6 Tb. sugars
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla or other flavoring

Procedure:

  • To cook junket, melt the junket tablet in cold water.  Boil the milk very slowly at a temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Examine the temperature with a thermometer before boiling the milk. If you don’t have a thermometer, you can drop few drops of milk on the backside of your hand and test its temperature.
  • When you can’t feel the heat or cold from this drop of milk, which means the temperature of the milk is very close to your body temperature. Body temperature is the temperature at which rennin is active. If temperature is extremely high then the milk should be cooled before you add the tablet to it.
  • When the preferred temperature has been achieved, add some sugar, salt to the junket melted in the water, and season it. Then dispense the entire mixture into molds and place it where it will remain warm for around 15 minutes, at the end of which it must be compact like custard and should be cooled.
  • Allow the junket cool until you are serving it. Now, remove it from the molds and serve it.

Junket with Fruit.

Ingredient:

  • 2 junket tablet
  • 2 Tb. cold water
  • 2 qt. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Seasoning
  • 9 halves of canned peaches or
  • 2 c. of berries or small fruit

Cook junket as instructed in the preceding recipe. Remove the entire juice from the fruit and insert a half peach or small amount of fruit in the base of each of the eight molds. Put the junket over the fruit to fill the mold. Allow it to freeze and serve cold.

Chocolate junket:

If you will add chocolate to plain junket, it will not only change the junket dessert, but can also include food value. Chocolates have large amount of fat in it, and it can be easily digested by many people. Chocolate junket is mostly preferred over plain junket, as the taste of chocolate junket is much better that plain junket.

Ingredient:

  • 4 c. milk
  • 3 sq. chocolate
  • 7 Tb. sugar
  • 3 c. water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 junket tablet
  • Boil the milk at a temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit; you can examine the temperature of the milk by using a thermometer. Dissolve the chocolate in a pan; put some sugar in it and 2 cups of water, and cook until it become smooth. After that allow the chocolate to cool down for few minutes and pour it in the warm milk. Put some amount of salt, vanilla and junket tablet melted in cup of the water.
  • Place the junket into a bowl or into molds and allow it to set in a warm place. When the junket cools, serve it.

  • Do not make it lengthy. The key to writing a good conclusion is short and to the point. Always think about what kind of final impression you want to leave on the readers, and then start writing your conclusion in a concise manner.

Things Required:

  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Seam sealing glue
  • Dishwashing glue
  • Heavy duty nylon cloth
  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors

Steps:

  • First, you will have to clean the torn area with the help of dishwashing liquid and water. After this, dry the tent properly.
  • Now, take the nylon pieces and cut two patches of 2 inches each. Make sure that the nylon patch is larger than the hole.
  • Apply a coat of seam-sealing glue on one side of the nylon patch. Allow it to dry until the glue become tacky.
  • Take the glue patch and apply it to the torn area. Be careful that you keep the material of tent under the patch as flat as you can. This will ensure water tightness.
  • Use a sewing machine, and make a zigzag stitch around the edge of the patch. Continue stitching in zigzag manner until it is dense.
  • After stitching, apply some seam-sealing glue on the stitching on both sides.

Tips and Warnings:

  • Tents are considered as survival material while trekking. Ask some professional to see if your damaged tent can be repaired.

How to repair a hole in tent

Things Required:

  • canvas or cloth repair tape
  • duct tape
  • needle and thread
  • waterproofing spray

Steps:

  • First locate the hole properly in your tent. Determine how long the hole is, since you will have to cut a patch and fix it.
  • Take tent canvas and cut a piece bigger than the hole. The extra inches on the canvas allow you to attach the canvas easily. 
  • Carefully stitch the patch on the tent. Make sure that the stitches are short and are close enough.
  • If you do not have a needle, you can also use duct tape. Seal all the four sides of the hole. Always remember that you have to overlap on the outside of the tent.
  • After you are done stitching, seal the tent with a waterproof spray. This will avoid rain coming inside the tent.

How to Repair Boiler

A boiler is a closed vessel, which is filled with water or other fluid for heating. The heated liquid vaporizes and then exits the boiler for to be used for various processes of some heating applications.

The pressure vessel inside the boiler is made of steel, or sometimes it is made of wrought iron. Stainless steel is never used for boilers, but it is usually used for the superheater section of the boiler.

In the live steam models, brass or copper is used for the firebox because it has higher thermal conductivity. However, the higher price of copper often makes it an uneconomic choice and cheaper substitutes are available.

In the Victorian age, the only material used in for boilers was the highest grade of wrought iron. In the domestic water heaters, cast iron is used. These types of heaters are also known as boilers, but they just produce hot water and not steam, and so they run on very low pressure.

The brittleness of the cast iron makes it impossible for the boilers to function properly. Earlier, boilers were the cause of many serious injuries and various property destructions due to poor engineering. The brittle and thin metal shells would rupture, while the poorly welded seams would open up, which lead to violent eruption of the steam. The large boiler explosions would demolish the entire building.

Sometimes, due to some problems in the boiler, it can stop functioning properly. Here are some simple steps on how to repair boiler.

Steps:

  • If there is no heat coming from the boiler, light the pilot light. Mostly, the boiler stops working because the pilot light has blown out. Once you re-lit the pilot light, give sometime for the boiler to heat again.
  • Keep a check on the amount of heat that comes from the radiator. If you know that there is enough heat, but not as much as before, then there is a problem with low pressure. (Check the pressure of the boiler’s pressure gauge, once you get a reading of 12 psi. If the reading is below 12 psi, then you will have to add some
  • Check the floor around the home boiler. If you see that there is a leakage in the boiler, then check the pressure gauge and see if the pressure is too high (above 15psi). If the pressure is high, then you will have to empty the water out of the boiler, and see if the pressure gets back to normal (that is 12-15psi) .
  • Check the radiators around your home and see if they need repair. If some of the radiators are emitting heat and some are not, then your boiler is leaking air from the pipes. You will have to release the valve which is there at the top of the radiator to relieve some of the pressure. Close it immediately if you see some water coming out.
  • Make sure to check that the bolts on your pipes are secured tightly. Schedule a maintenance service for your boiler every year, so that you it stays in good condition.
