A pot, which is implemented in kitchen, belongs to the kettle family; it is also known as coffee pot. Coffee pot is also defined as a container which holds freshly prepared coffee. There are different types of coffee pots such as, ‘Percolator’, is a metal coffee pot which is used to prepare traditional coffee. Ground coffee, can be placed in a small inner basket sitting on a shaft, boiling water is pressured through this machine constantly and coffee is soaked in it, it produces extort and it becomes more concentrated as freshly prepared coffee. Percolators and automatic coffee machine, usually prepare coffee with force. The pressure, which is produced in automatic coffee machine, makes liquid to pass into the pot, whereas the coffee ground is retained in the filter. The method of making espresso coffee is with forced steam, and by ground coffee machine. The espresso brew is more concentrate, because it brews under high pressure (between 9-10 atm), and it has more chemical and physical formation. In this tutorial we will learn how to clean coffee pot.
Things required:

Salt, as per required

A full container of ice cubes.

Dirty coffee pot

3 full containers of water.

Procedure:

First of all, unplug the coffee machine, before you start cleaning. You will put water in coffee machine to clean it so, by removing plug, the pot and the machine will be separated while cleaning. It’s a safe procedure to clean any electronic machine.

Now put some salt in the coffee pot. Make sure that the amount of salt is enough to cover the bottom of pot.

After that add four to five ice cubes in the coffee pot.

Close the lid of the coffee pot and hold it in your hand. You can also use the plastic wrapper to cover the lid of coffee pot; it will help to avoid mess while cleaning it.

In next step you will have to shake the coffee pot in circular motion, it will make ice cubes move in the bottom of pot. Move the pot more rapidly, so that the ice cubes start descending quickly.

To rotate the ice cube properly around the bottom of coffee pot, you can use some extra pressure or force such as centrifugal force.

Spin the pot in the manner that ice cubes slide at every surface of coffee pot, and drag some salt with them. The salt and ice together rub the pot, as the salt is coarse and the ice cubes can move around in the pot.

Now drain the water from the pot, once the ice is melted. Sponge down the pot carefully. Repeat the process if you find any stain left in the coffee pot.

Tips:

Always unplug the coffee pot from the machine, and be safe. Else, there is chance of electric shock. So, be careful.

Never put your hand in the pot as it can hurt you. Instead you can use chopsticks, towel. etc.

You can also place some glass marbles in the water chamber of coffee pot. Wash the glass marble once in a week.

You can use a paper towel to scrub or to clean the tough stains of pot. Do not use soap to clean it. Rinse it well.

Rust is the general word used for the iron oxides, mostly for red oxides, which is formed by the reaction of oxygen and water in the presence of air moisture and water. There are many types of rust that can be easily distinguished and they are formed under different situations. ‘Rusting’ is the common word used for corrosion of the alloys and iron, like steel. A few other metals also undergo the process of corrosion but they are not termed as rust. If a particular alloy is given water, oxygen and time, then it will completely turn into rust and start disintegrating. The formation of rust can be controlled by paint, which completely isolates the iron from the atmosphere. The most simple and cheap way to take out rust from the surface of steel is by rubbing a wet aluminum foil on the steel. The aluminum foil is softer and does not make any scratches on the steel.

Removing rust stains is not that difficult. Here are some simple steps on how to remove rust.

Steps:

Rust on washable fibers: take some lemon juice and apply it on the part of the stain, but make sure that you don’t let it dry. Rinse it with water and if required you can launder this fabric. If the stains are still there on the fabric, then conduct a test to see if the fabric safe for rust removal. You must apply these fabric safe removal solutions as mentioned on the instructions manual. After applying this mixture, wash the fabric immediately.

Rust on vinyl tile or asphalt: to get rid of rust stains from the vinyl tile, there is a simple solution. Take a clean cloth, sip in sudsy water, and wipe the stained area carefully. Rinse it with water thoroughly and dry it. If the rust stain is still on the tile, then you can use a rust remover. Always remember that you must apply the rust remover according to the instructions given in the manual.

Rust on granite, brick or concrete: take 7 parts of poultice glycerin, which should be lime free, 1 part of sodium citrate, 6 cups of warm water and calcium carbonate to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the stain and allow it to dry and harden. After sometime, take this paste out with the help of a wooden scraper and repeat this process if the rust stain is still there. Wash the area properly with water and allow it to dry.

Rust stains on carpet: if your carpet is of wool or synthetic material, then apply some salt and lemon juice on the stain. Wash this area with water after sometime and blot it. If the stain remains on the carpet, then use a rust remover and use it according to the mentioned format. Wash the stained area, remove all the extra liquid and let it dry.

Rust on porcelain or ceramic: make a paste of lemon juice and borax; this is very effective on rust and iron stains. Rub this paste properly on the entire area of stain and let it dry for sometime. Rinse it with water and repeat this process if required. Later wipe it with a clean cloth.

Rust on linen or cotton: rub some detergent on the stain, wash it with water and launder. If the stain is still there on the fabric, then test the fabric for colorfastness and then use a rust remover. Use it according to the mentioned directions.

Rust on steel: rub the stained area with a piece of emery paper, which should be followed by rubbing it with an onion. Rinse this area with warm water and wipe it clean with a clean cloth. Repeat this process if necessary.

Ceramic material generally contains a ‘crystalline’ or ‘partially crystalline’ structure, and ‘Morphous’. The most familiar ceramics are crystalline; therefore, the description of ceramic is generally limited to inorganic crystalline materials.

Earlier, the ceramics was a ‘pottery objects’, usually prepared from clay, either by itself or combined by other substances. This clay is generally fired in a kiln and after that fixed and fired again to form a colored smooth surface. Ceramic tile contain domestic art objects, building products and industrial usage too.
The term ceramic has been derived from the ‘Greek’ word ‘keramikos‘, which means pottery.

Ceramic tile is very familiar flooring choice, as it looks beautiful, is durable and it is easy to maintain. There are several methods to keep your ceramic tile clean; however, lots of cleaning products are filled with harsh poisonous chemicals. If consumed, these chemical can cause severe damage and can be hazardous to health. These products are also known to create mild to harsh damage to the skin.

A stuffed animal is also known as a stuffed toy, plush toy, stuffie, cuddly toys or plushies. A stuffed toy is made from cloth or other fabrics. It is made puffy by filling in straw beans, cotton, plastic pellets or other material. The stuffed toys are of various shapes and sizes like cartoon characters, animal shapes, famous creatures and many more.

The first stuffed toy was a homemade doll, with straw stuffing’s in 1830s. The most famous stuffed toy is a teddy bear. The term ’stuffed animal’ was previously used for stuffing the hunted animals. However, these day’s stuffed animals are made with fiber. Steiff Company made the first advertisement of stuffed toys in 1880.

Stuffed toys are the most perfect gifts. One can give it on any special day like birthdays, Valentine’s Day, friendship day and graduation party. Stuff toys can get dirty with time. Here are a few steps on how to clean your soft toys.

Ingredients:

Cloth piece (soft)

A fur free roller or a vacuum cleaner

A brush

Detergent

Washing machine

A pillowcase with zipper

Baking soda (if required)

Procedure:

To clean the stuff toys, begin by wiping it with a wet piece of cloth. Once you finish cleaning the toy, brush it gently with a help of a brush. Never use styling products on your stuff toys. A brush with plastic bristles it advised.

If you are planning to use a vacuum brush to clean the soft toys, then use a long or short pile adjustment. Make sure that you do not vacuum the accessories of the toys.

Look out for spots and stains. Before using any cleaner on your toys, test it on a section of their fur before. Let that tested area dry for sometime and brush it off later. If you see any kind of discoloration on the tested area, choose another cleaner.

You can also make your cleaner at home by mixing 3 tbsp of dish soap, ¼ tsp of ammonia and 3/4 of water. Apply this mixture to the stained area with a wet cloth.

One can also wash the toys in the machine, but before doing this make sure that you check the label for warnings and instructions. Before washing it in the machine, take out the batteries from the toys if any.

Then put the toys in a pillowcase with a zipper and use the gentle cycle mode of the machine. Fabric softeners are great to make the toys soft. If the toy is old do not wash in the machine. To get rid of bad odor from the old toys, you can keep them in paper bag with a little baking soda in it.

Do not put large toys over 18 inches in the washing machine. If you have toys, which are stuffed with foam beads, fiberfill or plastic stiffeners do not put them in the washing machine.

Never put the stuffed toys in the dryer, there are chances they may loose their shape or shrink. Instead, hang them up in a clothesline or you can also place them right next to a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier may take a lot of time but it will surely prevent any kind of damage to the toy.

A dishwasher is a mechanical device, which is used to clean dishes and utensils. Dishwashers are generally found in restaurants and homes.

In contrast with manual dishwashing, which depends widely on physical scrubbing to clean the dirt, the mechanical dishwasher cleans the utensils by spraying hot water (around 60-65degree Celsius). A solution of water and detergent is used for washing purposes, followed by fresh water to discard the remaining detergent. Some dishwashers include numerous wash and rinse times in the complete cycle.

The term ‘dishwasher’ can also be associated with a person who washes eating utensils in a restaurant, hotel or any private or profitable setting. Pots and vessels are also cleaned using hands by scrubbing them in a solution of water and detergent, dipping them in clean water to rinse. After that, they are dipped in a solution of sanitizer or water for a period of time. Silverware is cleaned by inserting loose silver in a plate, rinsing them many times in the same way. After that, silverware is sorted into circular holders, and then they are cleaned again in the dishwasher. If you want to clean your dishwasher, then just follow the instruction mentioned below.

Things required:

Orange Tang drink mix

Baking soda

Bleach

Vinegar

Instructions:

First of all, inspect the temperature of your dishwater before you start cleaning. This is the temperature of the water, which is used for cleaning utensils. Some dishwashers need water at the temperature of 130 degree or less than that, whereas others need 145 degrees or higher temperature.

Check the model and make of your dishwasher stated in the user’s guidebook or manual. Check if your dishwasher is having a pre-heating mechanism for dishwater when it becomes cold. You can use a thermometer to check the temperature just before you begin with your washing process.

Check and find out the kind of cleaning needed in the dishwasher. Scale, mold, rust, discoloration and food stains are very general concerns, which require regular washing. Follow the following instruction to clean these kinds of stains and dirt.

Mix one tablespoon of bleach after draining the materials of the dishwasher. Run the complete cycle. This process will help you to clean any mold growth in your dishwasher and keep the dishwasher gleaming.

Try to clean discoloration and scale off the dishwasher by putting half cup of Orange Tang drink solution. The citric acid, which is there in the mixture helps to release the hard water deposits. It will help you to eliminates and clean the scale from the dishwasher. Now, run the regular cleaning cycle of the dishwasher.

Put a cup of coffee, which is filled with vinegar in the racks of the dishwasher and run the entire washing cycle. This process will help you to clean your dishwasher completely. This process is one of the simplest methods and works well as precautionary care. If you can’t get vinegar for cleaning, then you can also make use of baking soda in its place.

Tips and Warnings:

Make sure that the dishwasher receives sufficient amount of water in the process of the washing cycle. You can use water softener to remove the stains that have occurred due to hard water, as these stains are very difficult to clean.

Check the necessity of hot water for cleaning dishwasher, and regulate the temperature on the ‘thermostat’ accordingly.

‘Wood flooring’ is a product which is designed for use for floor covering and visual aesthetics. It is manufactured from wood. ‘Bamboo flooring’ is also believed to be wood flooring, though it is made up of grass not wood. Wood flooring is available in two types, solid and engineered. ‘Solid wood flooring’ comes in large range of styles, shapes and sizes. Solid wood floors were basically used for structural purposes. In modern techniques, solid wood flooring is rarely used for building wooden frame for flooring.

Solid wood has various restrictions for flooring, because of the nature and characteristics of the wood. Woods have the property of contraction and expansion due to changes in atmosphere such as, moisture and humidity. ‘Engineering wood flooring’ is a popular choice for every house; it is made of two or more layers of wood in the form of boards.

Engineered wood flooring is of two types

Wood ply construction: it is also known as sandwich core, it consists of numerous thin plies of wood sticks together.

Finger core construction: it is manufactured from the small pieces of crushed timber. Finger core flooring can be of 2ply or 3 ply, depending on their planned use.

Engineering wood flooring is most popular wood flooring across the globe. North America is the single nation which has a larger market share of ’solid wood flooring’ compared to ‘engineered wood flooring’.

Unlike the carpet, hardwood floors are very easy to clean. It takes less time to clean them than any other household products. Once you know how to take care of hardwood floor, you will be able to keep it sparkling clean for a long time. To keep your hardwood floor clean and sparkling you just have to follow the following simple steps.

Things required:

Mop

Bucket

Broom

White vinegar

Instructions:

First of all, clean the hardwood floors with broom. Make sure that all the stain and dust is removed completely before you start cleaning. If a broom is not satisfying enough, then you can use vacuum cleaner as well.

Mix one cup of vinegar with a gallon of warm water. White vinegar helps to make the hardwood floors cleaner and shinier than just washing it with water. Use lukewarm water for cleaning not too hot, as hot water can damage the wood floor.

Mop the hardwood floor using the vinegar solution and a household mop. Mop the entire area of hardwood floor; mop well on those areas which appears dirtier. Use just enough water to mop, never leave the floor wet; moisture can harm your floor.

Dry the floor as soon as you done with mopping. You can use a dry towel or mop for this process.

Repeat this process weekly to keep your hardwood floors in good shape. Do no mop it every day; it can damage the hardwood floor.

Tips and warning:

It is usually very safe to clean the hardwood floor with vinegar. To ensure if it’s safe, simply put a little vinegar on the spot and check. Then you can go ahead with cleaning the entire floor.

Denture is a device which is manufactured to restore the missing teeth, and it is held up by surrounding hard and soft tissues off the “oral cavity”. Conservative dentures are removable, though there are various kinds of denture designs available and some of them rely on clutching or bonding in teeth or dental implants. Dentures have two main categories i.e. “mandibular arch” and “maxillary arch”. Dentures also have various “idiomatic” terms such as “false teeth”, “dental plate”, “choppers falsies” and “gnashers”.

People become toothless (edentulous), for many reasons, the most common reason for edentulous is a typical dental disease related to “oral flora control” i.e. “periodontal disease” and “tooth decay”. The tooth decay defect caused by a rigorous “malnutrition”, some hereditary defect such as “dentinogenesis imperfecta”, “drug use”, and “trauma”.

The dentures are made up of resin, and it has very tiny holes which can store food waste, and bacteria or virus. Dentures get stained, because dentures are worn whole day. Regular reinfection by dentures can cause “microbial disease”, and it can cause a constant systematic disease. Therefore to avoid these diseases you will have to clean your dentures regularly. Follow the following simple steps to keep your denture clean.

Instructions:

Wash your denture properly thrice a day by using denture brush, and with non-abrasive denture cleanser. Avoid using regular toothpaste for cleaning dentures it is too rough for it.

Handle your denture with care, as your dentures are too delicate. While removing your denture, pull it out slowly, by applying a rocking motion.

Avoid using rough brush, alcohol, bleaches, cleaners, whitener they can scrape the surface of your denture. And chemical like bleach can turn your white part of denture into pink.

Never use dishwasher, boiling water, microwave to soak or clean the denture, as it can wrap them.

Wash your denture properly after every meal.

Avoid wearing denture while sleeping. Soak the denture in lukewarm water or denture cleaner in the night.

You can bleach your “denture brush” in fifty percent “Clorox” and fifty percent “water” twice a week.

Put dentures in fifty percent vinegar and fifty percent water to reduce the growth of fungus. You can also use “Aloe Vera Gel”. Apply Aloe Vera gel on you denture thrice a day, it is a good antifungal gel.

You can also soak denture in a homemade solution of 2tablespoon of Clorox and 3 tablespoon of calgon, and 6 cups of water. After placing it in solution, remove all cleaner by brushing the denture under running water with a soft nylon toothbrush.

If fungal disease or infection occurs in your mouth then use “nystatin vag.” balm, place it in an even coating twice a day for at least ten days. You can also try “peridex” mouth wash.

Remove your denture while using mouth wash.

Rub your gums with fingers or thumbs in the morning and evening, or you can also use a soft bristled toothbrush.

Brush your gums thrice a day to rouse the gums to make them firm.

Clean your gums after every meal to avoid frustration caused by bacteria.

Brushing the denture after every meal reduces staining, irritation, and bad breath. While cleaning it put it in a clean cloth and soak it in warm water. Brush your denture by using denture brush to protect it splattering of food and plaque.

Damaged or scratched dentures will harbour plaque and bacteria which cause bad odour.

Cleaning denture with soft temporary lining:

Put the denture in a denture cleaning product, soak it in warm water.

CDs are the short form of “compact disc”. It is a pre-compressed “compact disc”, which contains data. CDs are accessible to a computer for data storage and music playback. CD-ROMs are mainly used to deal with software, such as “multimedia applications” and “games”. There are some CDs which have both “computer data” and “acoustic” and are capable of being played on a CD player. Data such as “software” or “digital video” is only works on a computer which has “ISO9660” format “PC CD-ROMs”. These CDS are termed as “enhanced CDS”. The correct definition of CD-ROM is an acronym for “compact disc read only media”.

The glossy and reflective surface inside the CDs is not entrenched within the plastic disc itself, it is also connected to the back, beneath the label. If you will scrape the “label side” of disk, the “reflective surface” of disk automatically becomes useless. That’s why some brands put stickers all over the back of the disk, so that if someone tries to scratch them then the disk will get destroyed automatically in this process. You always take good care of your CDs, even though it gets scratches and become dirty. Once your CD becomes dirty, and then it won’t play properly. To clean your CDs just follow the following simple steps. It’s quite easy.

Things required

A soft cloth,

Baby shampoo,

Tepid distilled water,

Alcohol.

Procedure:

Wipe up your disc surface in back and onward motion from the center hole to the outer edge. Never clean in circular motion

Do not touch the surface while holding the CD with your fingers inserted in the center hole and fingers pressing the exterior edge.

The greasy, sticky, gummy, or cake stain should by washed with baby shampoo mixed in lukewarm water. Rub the surface of CD gently with the solution by using soft cloth.

To remove fingerprints from the surface of CDs, take a cloth and wet it in “isopropyl alcohol” and clean the surface gently. Avoid using a “petroleum” based solvent such as “acetone”, it can damage your CD’s surface completely.

Dry the CD properly before putting it CD shelf or case. Wipe the disk properly with dry and clean cloths and then allow it to dry in air for about one hour.

Always put your CDs in the paper cover or in its CD’s case. CD’s get dirtier and even bad, scratched if you keep them uncovered, keep it in covered place.

Fixing scratches:

If there is any minute scratch at the surface of the disk, hold it up in the light to see it. If light passes through any little scratches or gaps, then the “foil layer” is spoiled and the disc is beyond repair. If it doesn’t show any light then you can decrease the impact of scratches by using a soft cloth and one of the following:

Spread furniture polish to disk surface, it will clear wax fills in the scratches

Automotive resistance compound

Automobile wax or polish.

A window blind is a particular type of window covering, which is made with planks of fabric, woods, plastic or metal. It is adjusted by turning from an open position to a closed position by letting planks to overlap. The metal window blinds are often found outside the business or house. It is used to protect from temperature, thief, bad climate, vision. It is also prevent fire, especially in fire prone area. The blinds are generally operated by machine, rather than hand.

There are mainly two types of blinds, “vertical blinds” and “horizontal blinds”. The horizontal blinds use a thin wicker “ladder” system, to drop the planks and allow planks to be closed by rotating drum through the upper end of the “wicker ladder” is draped and attached. The vertical blinds mainly use wide planks and have a special feature of pulling cord to hoard the planks together either to one side or to separate in the center and hoard on each end. “Edward Bopp” and “Fedrick Bopp” invented the original vertical blinds in Kansas City.

The other types of window blinds are mentioned below.

Slat blinds: they contain lots of horizontal planks attached to strings with a rotating facility and to conceal light or to clear window.

Venetian blinds: These kinds of blinds are made of plastic, metal and wood or bamboo. The width of planks of this blinds are wider in size.

Mini blinds: this blind is similar to Venetian blinds, but it has narrower planks width.

Window blinds are popular because they are very convenient to use and they appear really classy. Clean or dust your window blinds whenever you clean your house. Proper cleaning of blinds should be done twice in every six months to maintain their durability and keep them clean.

Procedure:

The form of cleaning window blinds depends on the amount of dust dumped on it. If the blinds have a small amount of dust layer, then you can dust them off by using moist cloth.

This process is pretty beneficial, as the dust won’t get released in the air and it’s a safe and inexpensive method for cleaning.

If your window blind is dirty enough, then you need some amount of white vinegar, cotton hand gloves.

Place white vinegar in a container and put on your hand glove. After that immerse your finger in container and take out excess amount of vinegar. Now, spread vinegar on both side of the first planks to clean out all the dust.

After cleaning few planks, you can remove the dust from the gloves. Immerse it (glove) again in vinegar solution and wipe out all the remaining planks.

If your blinds are made of “fabric” or “vinyl”, then you can use clean it by using rubber dry sponge.

For metal or vinyl blinds, you can remove it and clean it properly. Put towel on the floor before placing metal blinds on it, as metal blinds can scratch your floor. After washing metal blinds hang them out and let it dry. Once it get dry put them back on window.

If your fabric blinds are tremendously dirty, then you can give to drycleaner or laundries that wash has window blinds treatments.

Tips:

While washing wood blinds, avoid over soaking the wood. Wipe out extra water from wood immediately to avoid any damage to blinds or discoloring.

You can vacuum your blinds frequently with an attachment of brush. Always vacuum across the planks not upside down.

Avoid contact of cleaner with your eyes and skin it can be really harmful and dangerous.

Wipe down your blinds plank with “fabric softener sheets” after cleaning and drying it, it helps blinds postpone the dust build-up. It will also provide a pleasant and fresh odor to blinds.
