Many a times we decide something for sure and yet end up doing something else. We make excuses and avoid our work and then regret it later. Being unmotivated is a bad state to be in and often makes doing the simplest of tasks a big drag. Well if you find yourself in situations such as these often then you need some serious motivation to get back on track. Here are some tips that can help you be motivated and get your life back on track.
The most common excuse when unmotivated is that ” I just just cant get myself to do any work”. Well have you ever wondered where is “motivation” you need is supposed to come from? From yourself or from other external sources? Usually there are 3 reasons for lack of motivation, namely:

- No focus: Lack of focus is not knowing what you want to do, and will obviously make you lose interest in doing anything in general.
- No confidence: Lack of confidence in oneself is a big reason to be unmotivated.
- No direction: Not knowing what you want and what to do in life is a primary cause of being unmotivated. If you have no idea what you want how can you motivate yourself to do it?
Let us focus on these three points to get motivated in life once again.
No focus:
Do not be scared. Think of goals for yourself and strive to achieve them. Do not be worried nobody will respect your or that no one will accept you for what you want. Be fearless and let it all go. Fear feeds on itself and drains you of all your motivation. If you are caught up in a circle of fear based thoughts, then you will not want to do anything at all. It will drain you and not let you accomplish your goals in life.
Focus on fixing your fears, if you are scared of dying alone make friends and learn to trust them, if your fear being poor, decide what income you want to be earning and work toward it. By focusing on the positive aspect of things you will be able to put your brain to better use. Know what you want to do in life and push yourself toward achieving it.
No Confidence:
Lack of confidence is a big motivation killer. This happens usually when you focus only on what you do not have instead of looking at what you already possess. When there is only one goal in life your mind, being as active as it is, will start making excuses for reasons why you are not getting what you want. In such a state of mind you tend to focus on the negative and fail to notice your own awesomeness. Realize this, remember your achievements and goals and how great you are.
Focus on everything positive that has happened in your life. Stop dwelling on your failures, they aren’t there so you can brood about them, they exist to teach you and help you grow. Think about all your good times and free yourself of a negative thought process. The best way to succeed is to genuinely want something and to work toward it with utmost sincerity.
No Direction:
The last reason for lack of motivation is lack of a direction. To focus is to have a greater goal in life, and direction is the way to achieve it. Without direction there can be no motivation as we would not know what course of action to follow leading to procrastination. Start off whatever it is you want to do as soon as possible. Do it now, do it today. Make a list of how you intend to achieve your goal and work accordingly. If you find yourself wasting time, take a hard look and ask yourself what would be a more useful thing to do? Keep a diary or a blog and note down what all you do to make your dream a reality. Make a list of to do things and keep it updated. If you follow these steps it will bring back motivation to your life.
