Auto racing is a motor sports, which also includes “car racing”. Auto racing is also termed as automobile racing. Car racing is one of the hugely watched television sports. In 1887, the first automobile race was organized by the “Monsieur Fossier”, who was the chief editor of Paris publications “Le Velocipede”. The race was for two kilometer from Neuilly Bridge to the Bois de Boulogne, and the winner of the race was “Georges Bouton”. The Parisian magazine “Le Petit Journal” organized the first authentic race contest on 22nd July 1894.
In late march 1897, France, Nice, were the first standard venues of auto racing. The auto racings were termed as “speed week”. “Gordon Bennett Cup” introduced the first intercontinental competition between countries. Initially this auto racing was the competition of individuals. In United State (US), the racing first took place in Illinois, Chicago.
Car racing has different types of categories such as single car racing, touring car racing, productions car racing, one make racing, stock car racing, rallying, Targa racing, sports car racing, off road racing, kart racing, and historical racing.

- Join a racing school there are lots of racing schools around the country. It will teach you the basics, technicalities and advanced methods of car driving.
- You can also start racing. The professional racing circuits are quit expensive and you will need sponsors for it. You can also start your own racing circuit with the help of your friends, where you can organize and take part in racing.
