How to Clean Coffee Pot

A pot, which is implemented in kitchen, belongs to the kettle family; it is also known as coffee pot. Coffee pot is also defined as a container which holds freshly prepared coffee. There are different types of coffee pots such as, ‘Percolator’, is a metal coffee pot which is used to prepare traditional coffee. Ground coffee, can be placed in a small inner basket sitting on a shaft, boiling water is pressured through this machine constantly and coffee is soaked in it, it produces extort and it becomes more concentrated as freshly prepared coffee. Percolators and automatic coffee machine, usually prepare coffee with force. The pressure, which is produced in automatic coffee machine, makes liquid to pass into the pot, whereas the coffee ground is retained in the filter. The method of making espresso coffee is with forced steam, and by ground coffee machine. The espresso brew is more concentrate, because it brews under high pressure (between 9-10 atm), and it has more chemical and physical formation. Things required:

  • Salt, as per required
  • A full container of ice cubes.
  • Dirty coffee pot
  • 3 full containers of water.

Procedure:

  • First of all, unplug the coffee machine, before you start cleaning. You will put water in coffee machine to clean it so, by removing plug, the pot and the machine will be separated while cleaning. It’s a safe procedure to clean any electronic machine.
  • Now put some salt in the coffee pot. Make sure that the amount of salt is enough to cover the bottom of pot.
  • After that add four to five ice cubes in the coffee pot.
  • Close the lid of the coffee pot and hold it in your hand. You can also use the plastic wrapper to cover the lid of coffee pot; it will help to avoid mess while cleaning it.
  • In next step you will have to shake the coffee pot in circular motion, it will make ice cubes move in the bottom of pot. Move the pot more rapidly, so that the ice cubes start descending quickly.
  • To rotate the ice cube properly around the bottom of coffee pot, you can use some extra pressure or force such as centrifugal force.
  • Spin the pot in the manner that ice cubes slide at every surface of coffee pot, and drag some salt with them. The salt and ice together rub the pot, as the salt is coarse and the ice cubes can move around in the pot.
  • Now drain the water from the pot, once the ice is melted. Sponge down the pot carefully. Repeat the process if you find any stain left in the coffee pot.

Tips:

  • Always unplug the coffee pot from the machine, and be safe. Else, there is chance of electric shock. So, be careful.
  • Never put your hand in the pot as it can hurt you. Instead you can use chopsticks, towel. etc.
  • You can also place some glass marbles in the water chamber of coffee pot. Wash the glass marble once in a week.
  • You can use a paper towel to scrub or to clean the tough stains of pot. Do not use soap to clean it. Rinse it well.
