Traditional business cards are very basic; here are some simple steps on how to create an elegant business card.

Things Required:
- Microsoft word
- Business card software
- Laser printer (good quality)
Steps:
- Start with a design for your card; make a rough sketch on a rough piece of paper. You do not have to be an artist for creating a design for your card. The sketch should be enough to give you a rough idea about what kind of card you want. Color gives a rich look to your business card. Some colors like silver, gold, cream shades give an elegant look to your card. Make sure that you don’t use colors like bright pink or yellow as they are disturbing to the eye.
- Select a font for your logo. For an elegant look, you should choose a font, which is cursive, but make sure that you are able to read that font. You can try two fonts together as well. Use a nice readable cursive font for your logo, and a proper font for your contact information and other important details.
- Remove the elements, which do not match the look of your card. Always remember that less content is sometimes necessary. Make sure that you don’t add too much of graphic designs or texts or borders. This will make your card look sloppy and will make your future customers toss out your business card. Always keep your card as simple as possible. You will have to keep the name of your company in a bigger font than the rest. Sum up your contact information and business details in three lines. If you have any extra services, then add it at the bottom and do not use a border.
- The use of graphics should be minimal. Do not use large graphics and waste the space on your card. Make sure that you don’t use graphics, which are gaudy or loud. Always remember that elegant business cards never rely on the overuse of graphical elements.
- Put all the designs of your business card on Microsoft word or use a software program, which is specially designed for making business cards. There are templates in Microsoft Word, which allows easy entry of text and some graphics. The software used for business cards also works in the similar manner.
- Buy a stock of business cards. Note down the size of the business cards that you have made. Take this sample size with you when you go to buy the card stock. Most of the business card stocks will have a number to match with the rest; this will help you in getting them printed properly. The card stock usually has 12 cards on every sheet, and they are very easy to remove. Now, place this card stock in your printer tray and you can keep any side on the top. Both the sides of the card stock are similar, so you don’t have to worry. If you have the right size of cards selected then your cards will be printed fine. Once you have finished printing them, spread them out on a perforated sheet and allow them to dry. After the cards are dry, you can pass them on to people.
