A poster can be defined as any piece of ‘printed paper’ intended to be put up on a wall or perpendicular surface. Usually, a poster is consist of both ‘text’ and ‘graphics’, though a poster can be either completely graphical or text. Posters are intended to be both attractive and express a message. Posters can be employed for several reasons. Posters are a common tool to publicize or promote anything, basically any events, musicians, movies or protestors trying to communicate information. Posters can also be used for imitations ‘artwork’, especially famous works, and are usually cheaper than the ‘original artwork’. The other form of poster is an ‘educational poster’ that can be regarding a specific subject for educational reasons.
‘Max Gallo’, a French historian says that the posters have been exhibited in the public domain, for more than two hundred years, all over the world. In this tutorial you will learn how to create poster on Photoshop.

Instructions:
- Go to Photoshop. Click “File” and pick “New” to form a new document. Give it a file name and choose “A4″ in the fixed ‘drop down’ box. A4 is the general size for posters.
- Click on the picture that you will use for the poster. Explore the “File” or press “Ctrl + O” on the keyboard. Click and hold the “Ctrl” tab to pick multiple files to explore at once. Select the “Window” on the option bar and choose “Arrange,” and after that “Tile” to show the all four files, as well as the new document.

- Make Layers 0 and 1 invisible by selecting each of their eye symbols in the layer box. On the option bar, select “Layer,” and after that “Merge Visible” or click “Shift + Ctrl + E” on the keyboard.
- Create a layer mask on the recently merged picture. Choose the “Layer Mask” picture from the base of the layer box.
- Pick the “Gradient Fill” tool from the tool bar, or click on “G” on the keyboard. Confirm that the colors in fore or backdrop packages are black and white, correspondingly. Press the “shift” button on the keyboard and draw an incline from the middle to the bottom of the merged picture.
- Come back to Layer 1 and repeat, this time drawing the incline from the middle to the top of the icon.
- Form a new layer. Choose the “Brush” tool or “B” on your keyboard. Locate the soft brush from the ‘drop down’ option. Check that the color is black. Start painting along the boundaries of the merged picture, make the sharp boundaries softer.
- Insert text on a recent layer through the “Text” tool or “T” on the keyboard. Enter the text via ‘Trajan Pro, 60 pt’, and the color 4D181E.
- Right click on the new layer and pick “Blending Options”, then select “Bevel and Emboss.”
- Open the grid by clicking on “View “on the option bar and choosing “Show,” and after that “Grid,” or click “Ctrl + [apostrophe key]” on the keyboard. Shift the text and break it on the grid.
Save the images as a ‘.PDF’ or ‘.jpg’ files by clicking on “File” and after that “Save As…” Send it for printing’.
