Pedicure is derived from the Latin word ‘Pedis’. The word Pedis means ‘cura’ and ‘feet’, it also means ‘feet care’. Pedicure can be defined as a process which enhances the look of the feet and its nails. ‘Pedicure’ and ‘manicure’ are similar services, the only difference between them is that manicure is the cleaning process for hands and pedicure is for feet. Pedicure helps to protect feet nails from any kind of nail disease or disorder. It also helps to remove dead cells from you skin, as pumice stone (rough stone) is rubbed underneath of feet. Pedicure also includes leg care, i.e. below the knees service, which is very common these days and an expected service. Leg care contains facilities like hair removal by either waxing or shaving followed by a rough exfoliation, leg massage and moisturizing. Any person suffering from blood clot problems should skip the leg massage.
The way you care for your hands and fingernails, you also need to take care of your feet and toenails. Pedicure can also be done at home. Follow the given steps to do pedicure at home.
