How to Do Pop Shove-it

A pop shove-it is a trick of skateboarding it is quite similar to “Ollie”.  It was discovered in the year 1976, in southern California. In pop shove-it the skateboarder jumps up and kicks the edge of the board down in order to get the board in the air, and also pushes the edge of the board round the clock to get the board spinning.

While executing pop shove-it, the skateboard gets higher in the air than a normal shove-it, thus it can be executed while jumping over obstructions. Pop shove-it can be executed backside and front like any other “spinning tricks”. The directions of pop shove-it have been termed in the same style as 180 Ollie.  Pop shove-it is often referred to as the unmodified tricks.

Varial Kickflips, inward heelflips, 360 flips, hardflips and Varial Heelflips are have a follow the same  tricks  as pop shove it.  In the Varial Heelflip, frontside pop shove-it is performed, and 360 degree form of a pop shove-it is executed in 360 flips. Earlier, the pop shove-it was known as “Ty hop, this name was given after a “Ty page”.

The pop shove-it is basically a skating trick that appears and sounds difficult. Fortunately, this skill is easier than it appears. This article will give teach you step by step how to do pop shove-it.

Instructions:

  • The pop shove-it is a combination of two tricks, the Ollie and the shove it, into a slight feat of rotating acrobatics.

  • In a standard Ollie, you will use your back foot to “pop” the edge of the skateboard against the roadway while jumping forward, thrusting board and both into the air.

  • In a standard shove-it, you need to kick the board sideways by using your back foot, spinning it beneath your feet like a rebound due to this the nose and tail will exchange places.

  • In a pop shove-it, you “pop”(bang) the end of the skateboard against the ground by using your back foot, while thrusting it sideways and jumping forward, landing on the skateboard when it has finished a 180° rotation.

  • Doing a pop shove-it is difficult, you just have to obtain definite skills and certain tackle beforehand.
  • Pop shove-it is similar to Ollie if you learn Ollie then half of shove-it is done.

  • Pop shove- it is like a “spinning Ollie”, practice it step by step and do not get disheartened.

  • Chose a padded, smooth, and flat area of concrete, far away from innocent passerby and vehicles

  • Expand your moderate speed. Presume the Ollie posture keep your front foot near the middle of the skateboard and your back foot on the edge of the board.

  • Bend your knees, in order to jump. As you jump in the air, instead of just bouncing the edge off the roadway and diving forward with the skateboard (as in an Ollie), kick the back foot in front of or behind you, making the board  spin like a “boomerang”, height from the ground.

  • Be sure that you do not rotate along with the skateboard- the purpose of the skateboard is to spin under your feet.

  • Bend the knees as much as you can, to obtain the maximum height. Let the skateboard to spin 180°, so that the nose and tail exchange their place.

  • While landing keep  both feet on the skateboard. It will help you make safe landing.

Tips and Warnings.

  • Like Ollie, pop shove-it appears effortless, but it is a difficult trick to perform.

  • Always keep your eye on the skateboard.

  • Keep watching the skateboard while you’re flying, so that you keep track when it has completed 180° spin.

  • Always begin with the front. And always stay calm and composed.

  • The new tricks of Pop shove-it can be little scary, especially one that can put you down on your back. On the other hand, you are more expected to injure yourself, when you are nervous.
