How to Draw 3D Letters

3D graphics are most popularly used in computers, to represent three dimensions. There is also 3D geometric data, which is stored in the computer for the calculations. There is a lot of difference between the 2D and 3D graphics. A 3D computer graphic will mainly rely on the computer graphics or vector graphics. According to the software of computer graphics there is hardly any difference between the 2D and 3D applications. A 2D application is often seen using the 3D application for lighting. The 3D computer graphics are usually known as the 3D models, and it consists of files from the graphics data file. Any 3D model will be the mathematical representation of any object in 3Dit is very easy to display a model in 2D through an effect called 3D rendering.

A 3D computer graphic is divided into three phases, namely:

  • 3D modeling: this describes the process of forming various shapes with an object.
  • Layout and animation: this will describe the motion and placement of a particular object in every scene.
  • 3D rendering: this is capable of producing an image with an object.

There are various websites, which educate people about the 3D graphics. These websites allows the users to use some of the online advice if they are facing any problems. Members can also post reviews about some products. Drawing a 3D letter will add some extra effect to your work. Drawing a 3D letter is very simple, below are some easy steps that will teach you how to draw 3D letters.

Things Required:

  • Pen
  • Color marker
  • Ruler

Steps:

  • Draw some basic letters right on top of a page because the space below will be used for the 3D parts. Make sure that you draw fat letters with edgy corners. Now, use a pencil for all the sketching that you want to do.
  • In the middle of your work, draw a dot at some distance. You can draw that dot on the paper or above the paper, but remember that if you draw the dot above the paper then don’t move the paper. You will only need this dot later and it won’t be a part of your 3D letters.
  • Take a pencil and draw faint lines from every letter connecting it to the dot. If there are curves, then you will have to draw a line that is at some distance from the curve. For example, if you have an ‘S’, then make lines from the all the possible corners towards the dot. Make some lines from the furthest left side point to the right point of the lower curve.
  • Now, erase all the pencil lines, which move from your actual letters. Now, you will be able to see clearly that you have draw 3D letters. Scan your drawing and erase all the unwanted lines from your 3D letters.
  • Carefully cut the 3D portion of the letters if you do not like them. For instance, if there is letter ‘T’, then you will have to draw a line similar to the letter and then connect them together. Erase all the lines, which go beyond the place where you have cropped the letter.
  • Take a marker and put some colors in the letters or just make an outline of the letters. You can be creative and add different colors in the main letter and different colors in the 3D feature. This will enhance the look of your 3D letters and make them stand out.

Tips and Warnings:

  • Instead of normal letters, you use the 3D bubble letters, but remember that these letters are even more difficult to draw since they have no corners. Initially, you can try with some regular letters and get used to this process, then if you want, you can draw the bubble letters.
