A rose is a small flowering shrub, which belongs to the genus Rosa. There are nearly 100 species of this shrub and they come in a vast range of colors. These shrubs are erect and their stems wrapped with sharp prickles. Most of the rose plants are native to Asia, while the smaller shrubs in the same belong to Europe. Some of the rose shrubs have an edible fruit, which ripens in the autumn and is known as the ‘Rose Hip’. The size of a normal rose plant is compact or miniature, however there are some ranging up to 7 meters in height. The famous rose perfume known as the ‘Attar of Rose’ has been used since many centuries. This perfume is extracted from the flowers. People even make rose-water, which is extracted from the rose oil and is very famous in the Asian countries. The French people make the rose syrup from the rose petals and use it in various things. In the US, rose syrup is used for making marshmallows or scones.

The rose fruit, rose hip is used for making jellies, jams, marmalades and brewed tea. The fruit, rose hip is a very rich source of vitamin C. Some of the famous make-up companies use rose hip seed oil in their products. Rose has been depicted as a symbol of love and beauty since a very long time. The term ‘rose’ means pink or red in almost all the languages. Rose is also the national flower of England. A red rose signifies social democracy, socialism and love. A beautiful bouquet or red roses is one of the most popular gifts given on Valentine’s Day, it is the best way to show your love for someone. Drawing a rose can be a little tough if you are not a professional. Here are some easy and simple steps that will teach on how to draw a rose vine.

Things Required:

• Paper
• Pencil
• Pen
• Colored pencils

Steps:

• First, you will have to start by making a rose vine. Make a nice long curvy line the way you like. This will act as the base line for your rose vines. The leaves should be placed right next to the vine. The leaves on the rose vine should be of different length. On every end of the line, start making a leaf. Draw two curved lines and then join them together. Later make a straight line right in the middle.
• Start filling your rose vines with leaves, and make leaves on both the sides of the vine. If you want a dense vine then add as many leaves as possible. If you want a sparse vine, then just add a few leaves on both the sides. Try to add some different styles to the rose vine to make it look creative.
• Now, once you are done with drawing the vine, you can start drawing the rose. In the rose vine, you will need only half-opened rose. Start drawing a rose, make a simple swirl, and start making close circles next to it. Add some curvy ‘e’ and continue in a similar way until you have made a rose.
• At the bottom of the rose swirl, you will have to make a big ‘U’ shape, which connects to the top portion. If you want then you can add this ‘U’ structure to the rose also, to give it a different look.
• Next step will be to make a long ‘C’ shape, which connects the top portion of your ‘E’ and below at the ‘U’ shape.
• Connect these roses to your vine and place them in between leaves. You can attach these roses by drawing one simple line, and make two tiny leaves at the base of the rose.
