This is the most popular and common software used for editing music. You can easily download this software from internet free of cost. Audacity has many editing tools, which are easy to use. Following are the steps to be followed while editing a music file.
- Once the program is downloaded on the computer or laptop, go through all the tools and get familiar with the application.
- Import the music file in this application by clicking on “File” and then “Open”. Select whichever music file you want to edit.
- After selecting the music file, which is to be edited, play that file. You will see some blue lines and a time line.
- Before editing the file, listen to it thoroughly and mark the part which is to be edited. After marking the seconds, select that much on the timeline by clicking left mouse button and once selection is done, click and hold the left button. Drag the file where you have to paste it.
- But before pasting it, you need to delete the data present in that part. Go to Edit and Cut tabs and remove that part.
- Now simply open a blank page and paste your edited part there.

How to edit music using GarageBand
