Fix a wet mp3 player
Because of the small size of the mp3, chances are that you might drop it in a puddle or water. If it gets wet in this way, you can quickly fix it on your own before more damage is done. Follow these simple steps for doing so:
- The first and most important thing to do is to immediately remove the battery from the player. If you keep the wet battery in the mp3 player for long, it may result in short circuit.
- Rinse the battery and the player in distilled water. Make sure you do not use tap water as it is ionized and conductive.
- If your player fell in some greasy or sugary liquid, you will have to use water isopropyl alcohol to wash the player and battery.
- Now, pat the unit with a soft dry towel to dry it. You can also use a blow-dryer on a low heat setting to dry off the moisture.
- Place both the battery and the player in an airtight box with silica gel packs for three days. The silica gel packs will absorb all the remaining moisture.
- After three day, put the battery back inside the player and turn on the mp3 player to see if it working properly or not.
- If it is not working, then replace the battery or take it to a repair shop.
Fix a Coby mp3 player
- Make sure that your Coby mp3 player is charged fully. May times it happens that the player will not work if the battery has low charge.
- Charging the player fully will also help reset it if has locked up or frozen.
- Try to re-sync your player; remove all the files and store them in your computer and then copy them again in the player.
- Also check for the file format as most Coby players will only play files of mp3 format. If you try to play other file formats, then the player will not function properly.
Fix an undetected mp3 player
If your computer fails to recognize your player when you connect it to the computer then you need to follow these simple steps mentioned below:
- Make sure the player is charge fully and if it is not then charge it and see if the computer recognizes the player now.
- The next step will be to check the driver and software of your computer. The mp3 player must have come with a CD; launch it on the computer and then see if the problem is solved.
