A job is an activity which is performed to earn money or in exchange for payment, as an occupation. An individual generally starts a job by becoming an employee, volunteering, or starting their own business. The duration of a work can range from an hour (in the case of odd jobs) to a lifetime (in the case of some judges). If a person is trained for a particular job, they may have a profession. The series of jobs which by an individual in their life ARE termed as “career”. Almost every person spends a good portion of their life by doing a regular job, exceptions are if you are a retired, disabled, or student.
There are various types odd job such as part time jobs, full time jobs, self-employment, temporary jobs, odd jobs, etc. there are some types of occupation for which an individual requires degree or training.
Getting a job is an important aspect of many cultures; youth can begin jobs by odd jobs, joining family business, and household work. In most countries, school kids find a summer jobs during their summer vacations. Students, who are enrolled in higher studies, may apply for internships in big companies. Resumes play vital role in finding jobs, it provides information about the person in order to interest employers to get a job interview. Follow the following instruction to get a job.

- Review your aim, experience and skills, and choose an appropriate occupation that you want to do.
- Convey your message to everyone you meet that you ARE!!!! hunting for a job. By doing this a number of opportunities will come to your door.
- Create a network. Go to “professional-association” meetings in your company, ask associations’ membership directories for contacts, and try to program” informational interviews” with people in the field.
- Try to interact with more people, and get their contact at the end of the “informational interview”. Try to volunteer for something.
- To find resources and leads, you can get in touch with your “college career center” or a local “state employment office” Contact your local or state employment office.
- To find a job you will have to go out, get in touch with employers themselves. Goal an area downtown, garb the part, and go to every suitable “business organization” such as “employment agencies”, and fill up an application form.
- Newspaper may not list many job openings in their “help-wanted” sections, so you can look for information on internet. Internet job boards are usually used by company’s employers for their ease and immediacy.
- Be ready for rejections, do not give up, and do not get discouraged. Keep trying hard.
- Send out your resume to every possible and appropriate company. Follow up with them with a phone call in every six to seven days of written communication.
- If you caught in a wrong interview, for a position that is not meant for you, ask for interviews with other companies or department head in which you want to get hired.
- Investigate about the company which is hiring people, so that you will have a stock of relevant questions to ask the person across the desk
- Do some research or study about your subject before going for an interview.
- Give your best in an interview session. Be prepared for every kind of questions; show them your potential, skills, commitment, and talent. Give them an impression that you want to be part of their team.
- Always remember to send a “thank you” mail or note after every interview
- Follow up with your interviewer after three or four days and check with them if they need any more information. Wait for employers call patiently, for an offer later.
