  • POS, “Point of service provides” similar service as PPOs, but in this case your primary healthcare physician will decide if you need a specialist or not.

  • HMOs, “Health maintenance organizations” are the least expensive program as well as the most restrictive one.

  • Enquire properly before taking any health insurance plan. Check the benefit limitations of preexisting conditions. Evaluate the drugs prescriptions and the coverage offered by different plans.

  • Investigate about every insurance company on their websites. They provide all databases on their site. You can easily get information from it and can make up your mind on what plan you want.

  • Compare premiums and policies of various plans also look for other possible sources available for health insurance.

  • Some associations such as professional groups, alumni associations, and fraternal organizations provide proper health coverage to their members.
