Marriages are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. Marriage is considered as the social union between two individuals. According to Confucius a famous Chinese philosopher, “marriage is a union of two different surnames, in friendship and in love.” many historians and essayists have defined marriage as, “a union between two persons, who live in harmony so absolute with each other, that they are independent of the world outside.” A Marriage is the unison of mental, physical and spiritual paths of two souls. The way of marriage has changed over time, as well as the institution.

The selection of a partner for marriage involves either– the marriage may be arranged by couple’s parents, matchmaker or the couple going through selection process. Arranged marriage is made easier by formal   family procedures or group politics.

To encourage marriage, a responsible authority may engage a professional matchmaker to find a suitable partner for an unmarried person. The authority could be family, parent, a religious official etc.

How to Improve Your Marriage

But over time, the reason for getting married has not remained the same. Political promises are much like marriage vows. They are made at the beginning of the relationship between the candidate and the voter, but are quickly forgotten. Many people marry for the wrong reasons, like to overcome loneliness, to escape an unhappy parental homes, because they think that everyone is expected to marry, because only “losers” who can’t find someone to marry stay single, out of a need to parent, or be parented by another person, because they get pregnant, because “we fell in love,” … and on goes the list. These reasons eventually lead to consequences like complications in marriage, and ultimately lead to disastrous paths like that of a divorce.

So, here are some ways by which you can improve your matrimonial life and live happily ever after.

  • Never make the mistake of taking your better half for granted, always show respect towards him/her. Take out time and make an effort to be kind, loving, and appreciative towards your spouse. Try not to forget anniversary or your spouse’s birthday.
  • If you want peace and harmony in your house then, you both need to work on it. Share the daily chores of your home. Clutter in the house can be really stressful for both of you, so talk about how both of you can routinely contribute to keep the clutter minimal.
  • Always talk about your finances, when you have money it can come in between you.  If you are going through financial problem it can create lot of misunderstandings between both of you. It is better to talk with your financial planner and get things sorted out.
  • Be honest towards one another, support each other’s goal and give your partner enough strength to accomplish that goal.
  • Kindness towards one another is great gift always remember this and be willing to forgive.
  • Marriage is considered as a lifetime commitment that requires tremendous effort from both the partners. So, whenever you have problems bring it up gently and without blame. Always repair the fight or argument before it goes out of the hand.
  • Never expect your partner to change, allow them to be the person they want to be. Enjoy each others company, spend as much time as You can with each other.
