Things required:

  • Roll of window tint
  • Spray bottle
  • Scissors
  • Knife or other sharp cutting tool.
  • Small squeegee
  • Straight pin
  • Craft paper or cardboard the size of your car windows

Instructions:

  • The first thing you should do is take measurements of the window of your car in length and width. When you finish with measurements, go to the local shop or other mass stores and find the automotive section. You should select the window tint you want for your car. The rating of darkness is available on every package of window tint.
  • Purchase enough to coat desired windows and some extra tint for any mistakes or errors.
Most window tint versions also have little packages, which involve a small knife and squeegee; it is a good idea to choose one of these packages unless you already have these equipments.
  • Now, find a location away from too much sunshine and wind. You can also install your window tint in your garage or any other calm place.
  • Use craft paper or cardboard to create a template of your side and back windows. You can also employ the same pattern for the commuters and driver side windows. Carve the pattern to be the size of the window proportions on the inside of the door. When you have the pattern, you just need to carve out a window tint the same size as the pattern. Slice the window tint by using glue film side in front of your car.
  • Now, when you get the window film, slash it and make a solution of lukewarm water with a container full of liquid soap in a spray bottle. Take the spray bottle with lukewarm soap water, not cold water, and liberally spray the first window. Take out the thin support of the film off and scatter the film with the soap water too.
  • Apply lots of the water solution. Now keep the window film on the window. The warm soap water must let you move the film around a little to adjust its position.
  • Now, when the window tint is on, begin in the center and shove any air foams out by using the squeegee from the middle of the tint to the borders and out. Repeat this procedure until you get all the air foams out.
  • Repeat this process on all windows and then do not open your windows for at least one day. If air bubbles are still visible then you can use a straight pin to remove them carefully, and squeegee if required to lever the space. Make sure not to rip the paper when it is dry, it is destroyed easily.

Tips and Warnings

  • Always keep the soap water warm
  • Use lots of water
  • Do not give up, as it requires some practice to make it ‘perfect’.
  • Never tint your front windows of the car
  • Never tint your windows darker than permitted by law
  • Avoid rolling down the windows until you have given lots of drying time.
