Chili is also known as chili con carne or chili with meat. It is a form of spicy stew, which is made with meat and peppers. The traditional version of chili is made with meat, garlic, cumin and onions along with some chopped red meat. Some other ingredients are also frequently included in it like tomatoes and beans. There can be many variations of chili depending upon geographical conditions or personal taste. This dish can be found in the entire world, mostly in American Style restaurants. Chili most of the times is also used as an ingredient in other foods. Chili is often served with beverages like beer, cola or a glass of cold milk to reduce the impact of pepper on your throat. Many people love chili; it is one of the most popular dishes in America. The major ingredient in chili is spice. Making chili is very easy. Here are some easy and simple steps on how to make chili.

Things Required:
- 1 lb ground meat
- 2 cans of pinto
- 1 large bowl of tomatoes (stewed)
- 1 large bowl of tomato sauce
- 1 small bowl tomato paste
- 2 large onions
- 5 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp black pepper
- 1tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp salt
- 3 tbsp chili powder
- 11/2 tbsp cayan pepper
Steps:
(Non-vegetarian method)
- Take a large pan and place the piece of brown meat in it, take out the fat from the meat before you do so. When the meat is almost cooked, add garlic and onions and keep stirring this mixture. Keep cooking it until the garlic and onion pieces start becoming transparent.
- Now, add some tomato paste, tomato sauce, stewed tomato and all the other dry ingredients in this mixture. While you are stirring the ingredients, you can mash the stewed tomatoes with a spoon.
- Add cayan pepper for taste, and as much spice you can handle according to your taste. Now keep this mixture on low heat for at least 30 minutes. The chili will start thickening, if you want to speed up the evaporation process heat this mixture without a lid.
- Once the chili starts becoming thick, cook it on low heat for next 15 minutes. Now your chili is ready!
Vegetarian Method
Things Required:
- 5 potatoes
- 5 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- salt
- oil
- 1/4 ajinomoto
- 2 capsicum
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp garlic
- 3-4 green chilies
Steps:
- Start with boiling the potatoes until they are tender. Once they are boiled, peel them and cut them in the shape of wedges. Coat all the potato wedges with cornflour on all the sides. Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry the potatoes.
- On a separate pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil. Add capsicums, garlic and onions in the oil and saute them for nearly 15 seconds.
- In the above mixture, you will have to add soy sauce, sugar, ajinomoto and water. Stir all these into the mixture together properly.
- Take a plastic bowl and add 1 tbsp of cornflour in it with water. Mix this solution properly, make sure that there are no lumps formed, and add this to the above gravy.
Now, you will have to add potatoes, vinegar and green chilies and cook this for another 2 minutes. Your chili potato is ready now. Serve hot.
