Tea is a sweet-smelling drink. it is made from the leaves of Camellia Sinesis plant, by blending the leaves in hot or boiled water. Tea is the second most consumed drink after water. It is a little pungent in taste and is also refreshing, which many people enjoy. It originated in Southeast Asia, and since then has been introduced in 52 countries.
Tea is found in four major types- green tea, white tea, black tea and oolong tea, they all are made from the same plant Camellia Sinesis, but the method is different. The most liked tea is the post-fermented tea known as “Pu-eh tea”.
Tea is also served at various social events like tea parties in China and Japan. To increase your attentiveness tea should be had early in the morning.
The preparation methods:
The conventional preparation way of tea is to put the tealeaves in a teapot, then put hot water over it. Remove the tealeaves once the tea is prepared. The ideal temperature for tea varies for different types.
In black tea, the teapot should be preheated before putting in the tealeaves and water. The ideal boiling temperature should be 99 degree Celsius. Boil the tea water for only 4 minutes not more than that. The famous ranges of black tea are Darjeeling tea, Ceylon tea and Assam tea. Similarly, the temperature for green tea should be low, as the tealeaves will give a harsh taste. The concept of adding milk to your tea was introduced in 1860.
Recently, various flavors are introduced that can be added to tea like honey, lemon, mint and fruit jam. The popular flavored teas available in the market are Jasmine tea, Earl grey and Masala Chai.
Now let us see how the traditional tea is prepared.
Procedure:

- Heat the teapot before you pour water into it and then add a little amount of water to the preheated teapot. Now cover the teapot and let it cool down, when the vessel is warm enough drain out the water.
- Put tea in the bottom of the vessel, put one teaspoon of tea into the teapot. If you are planning to use a tea bag, you do not have to measure it, put one tea bag and make sure that it is fresh.
- Now pour hot water over the tea, the water should be proportionate to the quantity of tea. Now let the water boil, once the tea is ready take the tea leaves out from the teapot. Put the tea into another vessel and it is ready to serve.

Procedure:
For one cup of tea, take one teaspoon of green tea leaves. Now fill the teapot with water and keep it for heating. Make sure that the water does not boil. Do not boil the water, as the leaves will give a bitter taste. Once the water is hot enough, the tea is ready. Now pour this tea into an empty cup and enjoy your tea.
