How to Make Water

Water is a chemical substance, which is present everywhere. It is essential for all living beings and is composed of oxygen and hydrogen. Water is used and is referred to only in its liquid state, but it also has other forms such as gaseous and solid state. The Earth’s surface is covered by 71% of water. On Earth, water is mostly found in large water bodies and oceans, and 1.6% of water underground.

Fresh and clean drinking water is necessary for humans and other life forms. For past few decades, the quality of safe drinking water has improved almost everywhere. Water also plays a very important part in the world economy, since it is a solvent for many chemical substances, facilitates transportation and industrial cooling. Nearly 70% of water is consumed by the agriculture industry.

Water can evaporate very quickly especially in desert areas. You can restore or extract water by many ways. Here are some simple steps on how to make water.

Steps:

  • To begin with, you will have to dig a hole in a V-shape. The hole should be approximately half a meter deep and the moist subsoil should be visible easily. If you are in a dryer condition, you will have to dig the hole deeper, so that you are able to see the moist subsoil clearly.
  • Survey the land properly and look for signs of dried out riverbeds. These places are considered best to look for moisture.
  • When you are digging a hole, make sure that it is not under shade. For this entire process, you will need to have direct sunlight.
  • After digging the hole, place a can or a mug inside the hole in the middle. If you have a length of plastic tubing, take it and run it through the bottom of the mug till the edge of the hole. The tubing works great to suck out water.
  • Place a taut piece with a clear plastic wrap around the top portion of the hole. In order to create a seal, you must pour sand inside the circle and around the plastic wrap. Pour the sand an inch away from the plastic wrap. Make sure there are no gaps sealed with sand. The plastic wrap should shut the hole tightly. Ensure that there is no hole in the plastic, or else the water will not condense.
  • Keep a medium or small sized rock right in the middle of the plastic, so that the plastic dips down a little above the can. Do not let the plastic wrap touch the can or the water will not drip into it.
  • Now, wait patiently for the sun to evaporate the water from the moist soil. The water will start condensing on the plastic wrap and will automatically drip into the can. Once all the subsoil in that hole is dried, you can dig another hole and start the process again.

Plant consideration process:

  • Place a plastic bag on the end of a plant or a small branch. Ensure that you have tightly sealed the bag on the branch. During the transpiration process of the branch, the plant transpires water. To maintain the process of photosynthesis a clear plastic bag is necessary.
  • The water vapors will collect and condense inside the bag. Do not let the water drip out from the bag. Be patient and wait till evening for maximum condensation.

Switch the bag to another branch on the tree and repeat the entire process.
