Cue actually is a metadata file that helps in describing how the tracks of a DVD or a CD are laid out. You can easily open the cue file by using certain applications. Requirements for opening the cue file:

Following are the steps to open cue file:
Step 1: When you download a cue file, see to it that you have first downloaded a bin file. Cue file is necessary so as to open or burn a bin image. You can create a cue file easily for this purpose.
Step 2: It is easy to create a new cue file on your computer. Use the right button of the computer mouse to click on an empty space in a folder where you will find a bin file. Then you will see a pop out window. Click on the “New Text Document” tab and a new document will flash on the screen.
Step 3: Now you will need to save this document on the computer. For this go to the “File” tab on left hand upper corner of the screen and click it. Now select the “Save as” button. A window will come up on your computer screen. You will have to select the location of the file where you want to save it. You will also need to name the file. For this see to it that you name the file similar to a bin file along with cue extension. Now click the “OK” tab after making these changes.
Step 4: Open this newly created cue file. Now you will need to type FILE “yourbinfilenamehere.bin” BINARY

This is the information of the bin file. In the first line, you will need to give your file name followed by ‘.bin’ after entering the file name and other necessary information. Once you have provided all this information, save the document by clicking on “File” tab.
Step 5: Now you will need DVD/CD burning software. For this purpose you will need image mounting software. There are many different applications available for doing this. For this, you can use Nero software. Nero is the most widely used software for the burning of CDs and DVDs. There are many applications other than Nero that can also be used. You can use MagicISO or Daemon Tool for the mounting process. These applications are easily available on internet or you can buy the latest version of the software. Once you have selected the image mounting software, download and install it on your computer.
Step 6: For extracting the content of the bin file, you need to open the burning application which you have installed on your computer. To open or burn a cue file, click on the “Extract” file. Now you will need to browse the folder, which contains both the bin as well as cue file. Once you have got both the files, click the “OK” tab. The images will automatically be extracted on the computer hard disk. You can view these files easily and in any format.
Tips and Warnings
- You will need to put “\” after the path of the file. You will also need to put this symbol before the name of the bin file while editing the cue file.
- Use other applications as well, for burning a cue file.
- Do not use illegal copy of any movie or a program while opening a cue file.
