Egg hunt is a special game played with hard-boiled, decorated eggs made out of chocolate and in varying sizes. These eggs are hidden at various places and the kids have to find them. This game can be played either indoors or outdoors. The egg is used at the Easter games, because it marks the rebirth of humans on the day of Easter. Traditionally this game is associated with Easter and is an Easter game, but now people play this game at birthday parties as well.
The kids have to hunt for the eggs and they get prizes in the end for various achievements like maximum number of eggs, big or small egg, color of the egg, etc. Some people hide the eggs in places where it is difficult to reach or find. They create obstacles like placing the eggs on the thorns or nests where not anyone can reach easily. Planning an egg hunt is very easy you just need good strategy.
Here are some simple steps on how to plan an egg hunt.

Things Required:
- Invitations
- Plastic Easter eggs
- Candy
- Toys
- Easter baskets
Steps:
- The first thing to do when you plan an egg hunt is to start making simple invitations or flyers to send out to your guests. Since you have to decide the number of eggs you want to hide, you will need to know the number of people attending the game. Make sure that you have given the details about R.S.V.P in the invitation.
- While planning an egg hunt, ensure that you keep at least 5-10 eggs per child when you go to buy the colored plastic eggs. You must fill every egg with some treats like candies or party favors. Try to keep it simple by only adding one treat in every egg.
- Determine the age of kids coming for this game. You must divide the groups into equal number of young and old participants. Now, start hiding the eggs in simple plain sight for the younger ones in the group. Lay them in the grass or in the bushes in the best to determine that the young ones get them.
- The elementary students should be challenged by keeping the eggs at an arms length, like in the branches, bushes or behind garden rocks.
- The older kids should be given a challenge by finding innovative ways to hide the egg. Places like mailboxes, porch lights and places, which are out of sight. Make sure that you have written a small clue or hint for the elder kids for finding their next egg. If required, draw them a map of the backyard where you can highlight the area where you have hidden the eggs. This will make it simpler for everyone.
- Give every participant an Easter basket to put their eggs in. If you want the participants to get their own basket then you should mention that in the invitation. When they start the egg hunt, give them a little hint about where the egg is hidden for every group.
- Ask the kids to stand in a line according to their age and then start the egg hunt by ringing a bell.
Tips and Warnings for planning an egg hunt:
- You can plan various other games to play at the Easter party. Make various stations at your place for egg dyeing, basket decorating and then the egg hunt.
