The habit of nail biting is very common and we unknowing bite our nails while reading books, watching television, thinking about something. We are not conscious that we are biting out nails even if we have been doing it for a long time. It is not that only small children have this habit, but the onset of this habit is from childhood that lasts throughout your life. It is very hard to quit this habit. Here are some strategies that will help you know how to prevent nail biting.

Nail biting can be a reason of stress, discomfort or boredom. It not only creates a negative impression on others around you but also damages your nails and cuticles. Chewed-off nails look untidy, unhealthy and unpleasant. It is essential that you get rid of this habit as early as possible.

  • Filing you nails and keeping them in a good shape is very important. If you have a habit of biting your nails, do not grow them long. Longer nails can get into your mouth easily.

  • Grind some neem leaves, keep the juice extracted from it with at home every time, and apply it to your fingers.
