Parvo is a virus that mainly affects dogs and spreads very easily from one dog to another contiguously. If such an infected dog bites someone then the bacteria may be transmitted into the body of the person and he may suffer from serious disorders of bones.   • They also have odor as the disease advances and may also fall prey to sudden death if the disease is not controlled in time, giving them proper treatment.

This disease in dogs cannot be treated easily and there are fewer chances of your puppy being recovered completely from the disease; therefore, preventing it is a better option. Here are some useful tips that will help you in preventing your dog from parvo.

  • Proper hygiene is very important in preventing this disease as this virus mostly survives in the unhygienic conditions such as feces and other organic matter. Keep you dogs away from such places that are untidy and have such matter.
  • It is very essential that you clean the feces and the urine of the dog immediately and do not keep it for a longer time. If these feces and urine are not cleaned for a long time then the parvo virus may breed in it and its contact with the dogs many cause infection to them.
  • Clean your house regularly with bleach, because it is the only disinfectant that helps in killing the parvo virus; no other reagent works effectively in this case.
  • A good immune system for the puppies is also very essential to prevent it from getting infected, so feed your puppies a healthy diet and wash them regularly to keep them clean.
  • Vaccinations should also be given to the dogs. Those dogs that have not been vaccinated are more susceptible to the infection.
  • This virus easily spreads through air, so if you have an infected dog in your house or you notice any of the symptoms given above in your dogs then you should immediately inform the doctor and provide proper medical care to it.
  • Your dogs should also be kept away from other infected dogs to protect them from the infection.
  • If you are about to adapt a new dog, then before adapting it is always safer to know about the history of the dogs. You can take your pet to the doctor and carry out a complete medical check-up, before bringing it to your house.
  • If you have brought a puppy to your house, then keep it away from the other dogs in your house until it is vaccinated with the necessary vaccines.
  • Before touching your pets, wash your hands properly with a disinfectant soap and water such that if your hands are contaminated you do not transfer the virus to your dogs.

The survival rate of dogs that have been infected by this virus is very low, hence it is safe to follow the tips given above to prevent the dogs from this disease.
