  • Feed your dogs a healthy diet. If they are not getting all the necessary nutrients then their resistance towards the infections decreases gradually. This decreases their immunity and makes them susceptible to such diseases.
  • You should also handle dead animals safely. If you find any dead animal around you, report them to the public authorities immediately.
  • If you want to bury such dead animals, make sure that you handle them wearing gloves and also cover your mouth properly using a mask.
  • Wash your hands properly after you have handled such animals.
  • You should also wash your hands every time before eating and after touching your pets.
  • Avoiding bites from a rabid animal is the best way to prevent yourself from inheriting the disease.
  • If you have been bitten by a dog, then take proper medication as early as possible. Injections are available that help you prevent yourself from any infections.
  • Avoid unwanted off springs from your pets by adapting some preventive methods for them as it is difficult to handle lots of pets together..
  • Do not stay in close contact with your pets. This increases the risk of transmission of the infection to you.
