Bees are found in almost all the continents except one, Antarctica. The basic diet of bees is pollen and nectar; pollen is good source for proteins and nutrients, and nectar is a good source of energy. Most of the food collected by the bees is used for larvae as their food.

Bees are said to have a long tongue that helps them to collect nectar from flowers. Bees also have antennae, which is made up of 12 and 13 segments in females and males respectively. Bees have two sets of wings, the front leg is the shorter one in almost every species, and all the bees have wings. The smallest type of bee is the Trigona minima.; it is also a sting less bee. Megachile pluto is the largest bee in the world, and Northern Hemisphere is the most common type of bee.

The most famous type of bee is the European Honey Bee, which produces honey. There is also human management of these bees, which is known as apiculture or beekeeping.

There are three major types of bees.

  • Solitary and Communal Bees: there are some bees that fall into this category. The bees are called Solitary because all the females are fertile, and they built their own nest.
  • Cleptoparasitic Bees: they are also known as cuckoo bees, since their nature is very similar to a cuckoo bird. The females in this group do not have pollen collecting structures, and they never make their own nest.
  • Nocturnal Bees: these bees mostly live in deserts, where the temperature in the day is high.

  • You can also call a specialist for bee removal of a wax hive. If there is a hive on the wall or the attic, do not try to spray the bees away. Wait for the professional bee removal service, and they will get rid of the hive and honey.
