Things required:

  • Replacement parts (washers and/or faucet handles)
  • Old cloths or rags
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Flat-head or Phillips-head screwdriver

Instructions:

  • Cut off the supply of water to the shower. If your shower is not having a cut off knob for that specific fixture, you will have to cut off the supply of water for the entire house.
  • Open the shower faucets and let the water drain totally from the pipes. This process will decrease or remove the risk of water splashing or pouring out while repairing the shower.
  • Find out the screw on the shower faucet handle. Most of the time, a clear and attractive cover has been positioned over the screw housing. You can also use a flat- head screwdriver to smoothly meddle screw off.
  • Always use a suitable screwdriver, it will help you to loosen the screw and take away the faucet handle.
  • Most showers leak because of worn out or damaged rubber washers. If your shower is facing the same problem, then you will have to remove the worn out or damaged washer and replace it with a new one.
  • If your washer does not require replacement, then examine the faucet parts to see if they should to be tautened. If that is the case, then you can use the modifiable wrench to tauten the faucet.
  • You can also replace the handle of shower, if required. Turn on the supply of water back and investigate if the leaking has stopped. If it’s still leaking, ensure that the washer is placed at the right position, or try to constrict the faucet a little more.
  • If the shower faucet is broken, then just follow the instructions 1 to 3, but remove the entire part of your shower faucet. Take the faucet part to a store, which trades in plumbing supplies. By this process you will be able to get the appropriate replacement parts.
  • Set up a new shower faucet. If you didn’t get any information included with the substitute parts, then you can simply set up the shower where your old shower used to be. The old screw holes will be there; attach your new shower firmly.
