Pork rib is a kind of dish which is well-liked North American and Asian food. Pork and bones of a pig’ ribcage are prepared by grilling, baking, or smoking. It is generally cooked with a broth, mainly barbecued and then served.

How to Cook Pork Ribs

Things required:

  • A slab or two of pork ribs, baby back or whole
  • A bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 8×13 baking dish or a deep oven roasting pan, rack not required
  • Aluminum foil
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • Meat or cooking thermometer

Instructions:

  • To cook pork ribs, first of all, you will have to preheat oven to the temperature of 300 degrees. Now, clean ribs systematically in cold water and slice them into pieces. Approximately 4-35 ribs per piece.
  • Now, organize ribs (meat side up) in roasting dish or cooking pan.  Arrange it properly; do not let them overlap. Flavor them by adding salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Now, you will have to cover the pan by using closure or aluminum foil. After that, place it in the middle of oven.
  • Check your meat, after almost three to four hours. If they appear almost cooked, then just add your preferred barbecue sauce. Carefully cover each rib.
  • Now, you should restore cover or aluminum foil and put it  back in the oven until cooking time is over, generally it is cooked after 5 hours depending on the quantity of the ribs.
  • Keep cooking until interior warmth of the meat is a minimum of 200 degrees.  Examine the temperature with meat thermometer. To make the ribs tenderer, let the meat continue to stay the in oven the maximum time.
  • Now, you can take out the meat from the oven and allow meat to relax until an interior temperature of at least 180 degrees is achieved. Garnish your meat and serve with your favorite side dishes. Have fun.

How to Cook Pork Spare Ribs

Pork ribs are a type of food that is very famous in North American and the Asian cuisine. The pork and bones from a pig’s ribcage are cooked by baking, grilling or smoking. This is usually done with a sauce, mostly barbecue and is then served. There are many different types of ribs available; it depends on the section of the rib cage from where it is cut. The variation in the thickness of the meat and bone, and the levels of fat can change the texture and flavor of the dish. The inside of the rib cage is covered with a layer of connective tissue called pleura, which is very difficult to cook and is removed before cooking or marinating.
How to Cook Pork Spare Ribs
The various types of ribs are:

  • Baby Back Ribs: they are also known as lion ribs, back ribs or Canadian back ribs. It is taken from the top portion of the rib cage, in between the spine and the spare ribs. Baby back ribs have meat between the bones and the top of the bones.
  • Spare Ribs: also known as spareribs, side ribs; it is taken from the belly region of the rib cage, and spare ribs are flat and have more bone than meat.
  • St. Louis Style Ribs: these ribs are left when the sternum bone, cartilage and the rib tips are taken out. It is rectangular in shape.

Here are some easy steps on how to cook pork spare ribs

Ingredients:

  • Rack or pork
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 3 cups of cider vinegar
  • 1 cup of barbeque sauce

Steps:

  • To start with, remove the membrane from the side bone. This is very easy, you can use a small paring knife and separate it and then pull it out. Throw the membrane away, you will not need it. Now take brown sugar and apply it on the ribs. Turn the ribs with the meat side facing downwards. Pour vinegar, and allow the ribs to marinate for a 2 hours.
  • Switch on the oven and set it on broil. Take out the marinade and let the ribs broil until they turn brown. This will not take more than 15 minutes. Pay attention to the ribs and make sure they do not burn. Turn the pan; this will broil the ribs evenly. Adjust the temperature of the oven to 375 degrees. Allow the ribs to cook for 20 more minutes. After 20 minutes, take the ribs out of the oven and apply barbeque sauce to them.
  • Once you coat them with barbeque sauce, put them back in the oven for 15 minutes. Repeat this process by applying the barbeque sauce two more times, and then, cook it again for 15 minutes, do this until the barbeque sauce is caramelized. After this take the ribs out of the oven and place it on a carving board. Separate the ribs from one another. Serve the delicious pork ribs to your family and friends.  

How to Cook Pork Ribs in Oven

Ingredients:

  • Pork ribs
  • Barbeque sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Carefully cut the pork ribs in three bone pieces. If you want larger sections of pork ribs, then cut it into four parts. Try to cut the center meat, which is between the bones.
  • Brush the pork ribs with barbeque sauce and place the bone side down in the shallow roaster. To cover the bottom of the roaster, add water. Cover it and roast for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Low heat and longer cooking is the best tip for making really juicy and tender meat.
  • Remove the cover and apply some more sauce on the pork ribs. Cook for another 45 minutes. During the 45 minutes, apply barbeque sauce at least 3-4 times. If the meat is becoming dry, check the water at the bottom of the roaster, and keep the meat covered during the entire process.

Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes and then serve. You can serve it with potato wedges.
