One can make a cartoon of an elephant and stick it in the kid’s room. Below are some easy steps that will explain you how to draw elephant.

Steps:

  • Draw a basic circle, on a blank page that will represent the head. It is not necessary for the circle to be perfectly round. If you draw an imperfect circle, then the drawing will look more realistic. Make a trunk form the middle of the circle downwards. Make a curved line at the base of the trunk; this will give it a realistic look. Erase all the lines, which intersect at the base of the circle.
  • Make a huge elephant with ears on both the sides of the circle. While making the ears, you will have draw a line, which starts from the top side of the circle and curves around the trunk. Make sure that you don’t draw a fan shape, just make a smooth curve. Now, make two hind legs on both the sides. Their shape will be a basic rectangle, which are wider at the top. You can make the lines of the legs a bit wavy. Once you become experienced then you can draw legs peeking from the front leg, giving an illusion of distance.
  • Add some details to your drawing like curved lines over the trunk, tusks and eyes. Use some techniques of shading and make your drawing look realistic. You can easily do this by coloring your elephant with pencil and giving darker shades towards the edges and sides.
  • If you are drawing an elephant from the side view, then make two circles that intersect each other. Make a large circle for the body and small circle for the head. Make four-curved rectangle on the bottom for feet. Erase the intersecting part of the circle.
  • Draw the ears; make sure that you draw them near the head. Draw other important features like the tusks, tail and eyes. This will give you a cartoon picture of an elephant, if you want to draw a real elephant, just add some wrinkles on specific parts of body
  • If required you can also refer to a picture for drawing a realistic drawing. Add some colors like shades of grey, white or black.
