Independence means the “self- government” of a country, state, and nation by its population and inhabitants to exercise sovereignty. The word independence is used in difference to “subjugation”. Subjugation is referred as a “territory”, which is related to political and military control of an external government. Independence is the primary status of a “rising nation”. Independence is obtained by partition, separation, dissolution, or by decolonization.

Independence has a different meaning for different people. Independence has various forms such as moving out of a relationship, gaining self-government at work, going away from your parents, or getting relief from a roommate. Freedom or independence means putting aside your fear and following the steps to break rules, doing whatever you want to do, what you want to become, achieving your goal. If you want to become independent and want to live your life on your own terms and conditions then follow the following simple steps.

Instructions:

• Make your own decisions. Don’t let others control your life. Plan your day according to your own schedule, jot down the things which you want to do, how you want to lead your life.

• Have a strong financial condition. If you are financially strong then you can enjoy your freedom or independent life peacefully.

• Be responsible, pay your own bills, pay for your rent, and drive your own car.  If you don’t have enough money to do all this, then start saving aggressively. Your financial freedom will provide you an incredible feeling of “inspiration” and “self-government”.

• Do your work on your own, avoid taking help from others, and don’t do everyone else’s work.

• If possible, leave your parents home and start living on your own. This will be your first step toward freedom. Face the world on your own, make your own identity.

• Go for shopping and restaurants alone, spend two or three evenings a week by yourself. Work on the activities that help you to lead not to follow.

• Be critical, the toughest part of seeking true freedom is to become a critical thinker. Being critical does not mean that you start criticizing everything around you.

• Critical thinking means taking your own time to think over things analytically. Feel free ask questions in the manner of 5W and 1H i.e. when, why, who, where, what and how.  The habit of asking questions will increase your general knowledge and boost up your confidence.

• Don’t agree with someone just to make them happy. Don’t give up so easily. Engage yourself in healthy conversations or debate with others.

• Think for yourself and always think positive that is the best way to create an “independent lifestyle”.

Tips:

• You can go to restaurant alone and have food over there. If you feeling conscious, you can read newspaper or book while eating. This is the best practical step toward independent living.

• Try to live alone, as living alone is the optimistic step towards freedom.
