How to Cook Bacon

Bacon is a kind of cured meat; it is derived from the pig. Bacon is originally cured meat in salt water or in an arid stuffing, both contain huge quantities of salt. Fresh bacon is desiccated for weeks or months, generally in cold air, boiled or burned.  Fresh or dried bacon should be cooked properly before consuming.

Bacons are made from various pieces of meat. In America, bacon is constantly derived from pork belly. In other countries, it is typically set from the back or side pieces of meat. The bacon which is ready from the bellies is termed as a streaky, fatty or American fashion. The side pieces have extra flesh and less fat as compared to belly meat. The bacons are made from two separate back pieces, such as fat back, which contain only fat and pork loin, which is extremely slant.   • To cook bacon, first of all take out the frozen bacon from the fridge and defrost it.  Now, gently cut the bacon in two separate pieces by using the dull edge of the butter knife. You will have to keep the bacon out from fridge for almost forty minutes before cooking.
  • When you are frying the bacon, then you should be very careful and flip it often. Bacons can burns easily, so be careful while frying it. Adult bacon can cook and burn about twice as instantly as the young bacon.
  • If you want to cook crispy bacon, then pick the thinner piece to fry. Decant the fat as it mounts up in the frying pan. You can use average to low temperature to cook it. Now, cook slowly, flipping often to take out most of the fat and aid to avoid shrinkage.
  • The fat comes out from the cooked bacon, is highly valued as cooking oil for its taste. When the bacon is cooked, let the rendered oil cool down at room temperature and then transfer through fine strainer into glass vessel.
  • Place a microwave safe tissue paper in the oven dish; big enough to set a distinct layer of bacon pieces, i.e. 5 to 7 pieces. Wrap it with another tissue paper. Seven pieces of bacon will take around 10 minutes to cook; it completely depends on the temperature of the microwave and the thickness of the meat. Keep checking the meat after every three minutes.
  • Bacon can also be cooked in the oven. First of all, heat the oven to 450 degree Fahrenheit. Now, keep the stand inside the baking sheet of the oven. Spread the pieces of meat and cook for 8 minutes.  You can also cook bacon in a broiler.
  • If you are conscious about your fat intake, lean smoldered ham or prosciutto can replace bacon in several recipes where the rendered bacon fat is not required. Turkey, chicken and vegetarian bacon are also available in the market.
  • Many pieces of bacon are sold without peeling it.  Get rid of the skin before cooking. Get the fat from the skin by frying and you will get a delicious and preferred Southern snack.
